One of Asia Pacific’s most widely published travel writers, he’s written features for The Australian, South China Morning Post, National Geographic Traveler, and countless inflight magazines. He’s also published 7 books, including the travelogue Gone Troppo, and contributed chapters to Red Dust & Wanderlust, and To Thailand with Love.
He created the blog ThailandJingJing.com for the Tourism Authority of Thailand, was inaugural chief editor of Lanna101 magazine, and wrote several tourist map publications for the Mekong Tourism Co-ordination Office. And wrote award winning copy/concept for global campaigns for Sheraton, Hilton, Mandarin Oriental, South African Tourism, New Zealand Tourism, etc.
As Senior Director of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Stu oversaw editorial for Compass magazine, and was Acting Publisher at the Travel Daily Media group overseeing its 5 publications. He now runs workshops on Storytelling and Creativity/Innovation for travel and tourism clients such Accor, Tourism Malaysia, PATAcademy, Singapore Press Holdings, Discovery Channel, Singapore Tourism, etc
Stu has been at the intersection of creativity and commerce for 30 years, bringing a broad perspective of having worked as everything from a copywriter, creative director and managing director of multinational ad agencies, through to serial entrepreneur in startups, to non-profits.
He has published hundreds of business articles across Asia Pacific for publications such as Variety (USA), Media & Marketing, Retail Asia, B&T, AdAge and the Fairfax stable in Australia.
He has appeared several times on TV and radio, including CNN, CNBC, ABC TV and Radio, SBC 5, Bloomberg Business, Straits Times, Bangkok Post, South China Morning Post, etc.
